8th Annual Stuart House Benefit Draws Out the Stars

Gathering together for a good cause, the stars were out for John Varvatos' 8th Annual Stuart House Benefit at the John Varvatos Store in West Hollywood, California on Sunday (March 13).

Spearheaded by event chairs, "Grey's Anatomy" actor Patrick Dempsey and his wife Jillian, the charitable function included food, auctions, luxury shopping and children's activities.

With celebs such as Zoe Saldana, Brooke Burke, James Van Der Beek and Jayma Mays all partaking, the Stuart House Benefit also featured a performance by K.D. Land and The Siss Boom Bang along with a concert and live auction with Emcee Bill Bellamy.

As for the cause, the party raised funds for Stuart House - which describes itself as "an innovative facility established by the RTC, remedies many of the problems in the traditional system that often revictimize these profoundly traumatized children, such as multiple, repetitive interviews in cold, institutional settings; low prosecution rates; and critical shortages in expert medical care and therapy services."

The child-aiding center has a stated mission to solve these problems by looking at the system through a child's eyes.

The “Avatar” beauty dazzled as she waltzed along the red carpet in a red and pink dress and heels before heading inside for the soiree held at Sunset Tower.

Quite the busy lady over the weekend, Ms Zoe Saldana attended the 2011 annual Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday night.

Not only did Zoe Saldana catch up with fellow celebs like “Glee” star Jane Lynch, she also took the stage to present an award to one of this year’s winners.

Always looking fabulous on the red carpet, Zoe Saldana looked stunning as she arrived at the 2011 Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday afternoon (February 26).

The "Avatar" actress turned heads in Dolce & Gabbana as she strutted her stuff at the Santa Monica beachfront venue while mingling with fellow guest Jane Lynch.

Along with taking in the Spirit Awards happenings, Miss Saldana will be taking the stage to dish out a trophy to one of the ceremony's lucky winners.

The 2011 Film Independent Spirit Awards will air at 10:00 ET on IFC with Joel McHale handling the hosting duties.

Zoe Saldana Supports FINCA Relief in Haiti

Besides being a beautiful and successful actress, Zoe Saldana is also an avid advocate for FINCA’s efforts to help rebuild Haiti.

The “Avatar” hottie appears in a new Public Service Announcement to encourage everyone to team up in the “Hand Up for Haiti” campaign.

She explains, “One year after the devastating tragedy in Haiti, the need to help people get back on their feet is still tremendous.”

“One way you can continue the recovery is by supporting FINCA’s Hand Up for Haiti Campaign. When the quake hit, FINCA first made sure their clients and staff were safe, then they talked with each and every client to assess how they had been impacted. The first thing they did was forgive the loans of 4,500 clients to help protect the remaining assets and enable them to restart their businesses without a debt burden.”


“Today, FINCA is serving approximately 8,000 Haitian clients. Please give generously to the Hand Up for Haiti Campaign.”
