Calling all Mod Men, hipsters, lounge lizards and swanksters

You might notice that Bikini.com has a distinctive "look and feel" -- some of it actually takes its inspiration from the wacky, retro mid-century architecture of Miami Beach. If you like that look too, check out ModMiami, a celebration of Mid Century Modern/Atomic/Space Age style and culture, taking place March 3-6, 2011 in Miami. The event features art, music, entertainment, cocktails, fashion, architecture and design and will be taking place around Miami's historic MiMo district, which is chock full of very cool buildings, signs and clubs from that era. On Saturday, March 5, they'll be holding the Bay Blanket Bingo Party, featuring one of our all time favorite party bands, The Intoxicators. There's also Marina the Fire Eating Mermaid, a Polynesian Revenue and a retro bikini fashion show produced by Black Cat Bikinis. And, in the Saturday night grand finale, you can enjoy the otherwordly sights and sounds of The Superions, featuring Fred Schneider of the The B-52's. The whole shebang is hosted by Mike "Jetsetter" Jones, a cool dude and major-league fan of mid-century atomic design. For more information, check out http://www.modmiami.com.
